Product Description
BP-5 Compact Food is a concentrated compressed food. BP-5 Compact Food can be
eaten directly from the package as a biscuit, or eaten as porridge. To make
the biscuit into porridge add 200 mL of water to each meal pack, consisting
of two BP-5 Compact Food tablets (2x28g).
Product Contents
Each package of BP-5 contains Vitamin B1, B2, niacin, B6, B12, C, A, D, E, Folic
acid, Ca-D-pantothenate and biotin, calcium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus, zinc
and iodine. BP-5 contains 10mg of iron as ferrous fumarate. BP-5 gives 455 kcal
per 100g of product.

Product Packaging
BP-5 has a 5-year shelf life. The product is packed under high vacuum in an
air and watertight aluminum tri-ply laminate bag. Because of the compact protective
packaging and the versatility with regard to use, BP-5 is suitable for stock
storage.
Cost
BP-5 costs Euros 1.52 per 500 g box containing nine bars.
Product Shipping Information
Each box of nine BP-5 bars is packaged into a polyethylene-coated carton of
24 boxes weighing 13.6 kg. Fifty-five cartons are put on a 1.17 m3 (1.22m*0.79m*1.21m)
pallet for shipping. Shipments can also come as a 20' container containing 1500
cartons and weighing 20.4 MT.

Compact AS in Norway produces BP-5.
Procurement Information
BP-5 is available though UNICEF Supply Division and from the producers. Compact
AS has storage facilities in many different countries in Africa and Europe and
can have next day delivery to most points through air shipment. For sea shipments
to Africa, Asia and South America up to six weeks should be allowed for delivery.
