Videos

       A new video focusing on Iron Deficeincy and produced by MI and UNICEF is being distributed. As noted on the MI website (at http://www.micronutrient.org/framesets/resources/res_usi.htm), this video points out the significance of micronutrient malnutrition, especially as it affects women. It outlines the effects of three micronutrient deficiencies: iron, iodine, and vitamin. Some examples of how to overcome the deficiencies are given, and the need for immediate action to expand on these efforts is emphasized. Contact Ibrahim Daibes at MI for additional information.

CD ROMs

        The IDPAS Iron World V is a CD Rom capturing all of the IDPAS Iron World web pages, updated as of December 2003. All registered IDPAS users from developing countries are being sent a copy and the CD Rom will be distributed as an insert of the March 2004 Food and Nutrition Bulletin (to subscribers from developing countries and countries in economic transition). Others working in this field may request a copy by email (idpas@inffoundation.org), fax (1-617-636-3781) or conventional mail (IDPAS office, 150 Harrison Street, Boston MA 02111). The next expected update will be in May 2004.
